The link supplied has excellent
information in it about the Wise and Foolish virgins. I
would like to add the
word faith
to the above parable. I believe a wise virgin has a spirit
filled vessel and strong faith that their change to a new
body will come
shortly after the dead in Christ
rise. The foolish will not believe this until it has already
happened.
(Mat 25:8 KJV) And
the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil;
for our lamps are gone out (correct translation is
quenched or going out).
This verse always bothered
me as believers do not give the Holy Spirit but we can
join another believer by adding our faith to theirs.
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is
impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God
must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of
them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things
hoped for, the evidence of
things not seen.
(Mat
25:9 KJV) But the wise answered, saying, Not
so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go
ye rather to them that sell, and buy for
yourselves.
I believe that
sufficient faith coupled with the Holy Spirit is what
the foolish virgins lack.
Faith must be
excerised like a muscle to build it up in strength. This
takes time and is done by
overcoming the
world. the flesh, and the Devil within our own personal
trials. Walking in the spirit
and
rejecting the flesh is accomplished from a strong,
spirit filled believer. At the time of the rapture
the foolish have
weak faith in a weak vessel that can not be built up
fast enough to be taken as part of the bride.
They will become
part of the body of Christ and taken to Heaven with the
Tribulation Saints. They will miss the prize
that Paul
sought after.
Philippians 3:14
I press toward the
mark for the prize of the
high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
1 Corinthians 9:24
Know ye not that
they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth
the prize? So run, that ye
may obtain.
The foolish miss the
prize but are promised
Heaven. Jesus said so: John 6:39
And this is the
Father's will which hath sent me, that of all
which he hath given me I
should lose nothing, but should raise it up again
at the last day.
- Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved.
