I wonder if you could be the Rhonda I knew years ago on the Harvard Neurology Webforum, as it was officially called.

I forget the more familiar name.  I know you had unremitting pain then, if it's you, the same Rhonda, and used to lie

on the floor, near a warming grate, to try to assuage the pain.
