"Re: Steve Mullin -
Faith"
Steve,
Thank you for saying a few words about the importance of FAITH
in these remaining days before the rapture. There are many
un-confessed (unforgiven) sins that will keep one out of the
Kingdom, including the lists given in ! Cor. 9:10 and Eph 5:5.
The homosexual sinner needs to read Eph. 5:6-33 for words of
guidance concerning how he/she should live after being born
again by accepting Jesus' payment for all sin at Calvary,in
these last days, or in any days.
"Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in
the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and
the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as
others." (Eph. 2:3)
The lists of sins given in Holy Scripture include many specific
sins, e.g., fornication, Idolatry, drunkenness, homosexuality,
etc. Being guilty of ANY one of these, in the SLIGHTEST degree,
e.g., by simply entertaining the thought of performing the acts
mentioned is the same as to be guilty of all in complete outward
performance, period. Singling out homosexuality as being more
damning than the others misses the point that ANY sin that is
un-confessed and forgiven by the Father will keep one out of His
perfect kingdom of heaven. Only Christ is blameless in this
connection, as you so correctly stated and can be the sponsor
that will insure entry into His kingdom.
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the
truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. " (1 John 1:8-9)
But, we are sinners, just like the idolater and homosexual and
are not appointed to be judges, at least not as we are.
Certainly, after receiving our glorified bodies as promised to
those who are FAITHFUL to Jesus we will judge even the angels.
"Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things
that pertain to this life." (1 Cor. 6:3) The verbs in that verse
are in the future tense, not the present tense.
Steve, you so correctly and clearly identify the most important
thing that defines the narrow path leading to life, in
contradistinction to the broad path of the Laodicean church, and
many other false faiths, that people take on their road to
destruction. (Matt. 7:13-14)
Of course, we can judge our faith by our works done from our
faith. "Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone...But
will thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?"
(James 3:17,20) "Ye see then how that by works a man is
justified, and not by faith only...For as the body without the
spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." (James
2:24,26) "But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead
bury their dead." (Matt. 8:22)
Thank you again for putting some of my intended thoughts, and
more correctly your thoughts, into better words than I could
come up with. All praises, honor and majesty to Jesus and His
Father in heaven for allowing us all to be worthy of the
kingdom.
YBIC,
Robert
