And I thought...Hmmmm.....Milkin? Is that who I
think it is? AND IT IS!!!
He was the JUNK BOND KING in the early 1990's......and he
WENT TO JAIL for the illegal stuff that went on back then.
(BTW......the illegal part was....and get
this.....!!!!!.......IF Mike's group floated an issue of
Junk Bonds for YOUR company....you were then OBLIGATED to
buy the junk bonds of the NEXT company he issued junk bonds
for... this, then, self-perpetuated the FUNDING AND
ISSUANCE......of MORE JUNK BONDS>!!!!)
(BTW......Milkin only did 2 years in jail......he was
sentenced to 10 years....AND BARRED from the Securites
Industry FOR LIFE....)
BUT AAAAAHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAA.....NOW HE IS ADVISING PEOPLE
LIKE Bill Clinton....and Barrack Obama.........
Now...IF THAT'S NOT IRONY...I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS!!!!!
Hmmmmmmm...so....here's an idea:
1) What IF we could securitize mortgage loans - package
them - and sell them to OTHER banks and OTHER
countries.....so we could make MORE Mortgage loans in the
United States. THAT could work, couldn't it???
(LOL......) Hmmmmm.. THAT worked out well didn't
it???
AND
2) What IF.....in Europe.....we could bail out the 'bad"
countries.....simply by creating MORE DEBT backed by the
GOOD countries....like Germany....and then put the "full
faith and credit of the new Euro Zone behind it
too..." THAT could work out, couldn't it?
AND
3) What IF.....in the USA......we could get the Federal
Reserve to write a check (remember, they DON'T HAVE ANY
MONEY THEMSELVES)....to buy ALL the new issuance of US
Governement bonds that is necessary, I mean, just in case we
can't enough OTHER countries....and people......to buy it
all? THAT could work, couldn't it?
I wonder IF the Milkin Institute helped everyone perfect
those NEW ideas??!!
Back to my opening statement...we're all sooooo
veryyyyyy... SCREWED!!!!!!! Financially
speaking.....
