Hello, John and Doves,
What does it mean, "Get thee behind
me, Satan?"
Did you ever wonder what this
really meant?
It means that Satan is out of line
whenever he accuses Jesus of any wrongdoing [and by
extension, anyone of us (Jeremiah
33:16 and 1 John 1:9)].
So then, "Get thee behind me"
means, "Fall in line, soldier!"
Satan is what you call a rogue
element. As a Jason
Bourne wannabe, Satan supposes he forgot that he
used to be God. Let me put it another way.
Satan wishes he were as lucky as Bugs Bunny, but he's
just plain loony--and as destructive-minded about
Earth as Martin the Martian!
Of course, like a toon, the
Devil continues to exist. One day, he'll meet
his end. God rules over hell, too.
"If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my
bed in Sheol, you are there!"
Need I say it? Wherever God
is, He rules supreme.
"Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God,
and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is]
none like me,
"Declaring the end from the beginning, and from
ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done,
saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my
pleasure:
"Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that
executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have
spoken [it], I will also bring it to pass; I have
purposed [it], I will also do it."
"Now unto the King eternal, immortal,
invisible, the only wise God, be honour
and glory for ever and ever. Amen."
