"Frank-
inheriting the Kingdom of Heaven"
Frank, I am not going to enter the
discussion that is going on which caused you to reference two
verses that both spoke about inheriting the kingdom of
heaven. When Paul witnessed to the jailor and when Philip
witnessed to the Eunuch, they both said that salvation was
brought about by believing on the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ. And yet, you are using the inheriting of the
Kingdom to be synonymous with spiritual salvation.
According to your logic in the light of Heb. 6: 9 - 12, not only
the gay but the slothful wont inherit the promise-thus can't be
saved.
9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and
things that accompany salvation though we thus speak,
10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and
labor of love, which ye have shown toward his name, in that ye
have ministered to the saints, and we do minster.
11 And we desire that every one of you do show the same
diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end;
12 That ye be NOT SLOTHFUL, but followers of them who
through faith and patience INHERIT THE PROMISES.
Do you think that maybe we are talking about work that comes
after spiritual salvation....like the work that goes on toward
the subduing a spiritually saved mans soul? This work is
something that can suffer, be ignored, put off, placed little
value on. Sounds a lot like Esau and the value that he
placed on his birthright and he ended up forfeiting his right to
the first borns inheritance. He was still a part of the
family and received a much smaller portion, but the first born
status was lost. We can lose the promise of the first born
status (being a part of the bride of Christ), but we can't loose
our place in the family (body of Christ).
