The Heart of America
The news media is in overdrive and the election year, in
reality, has not yet started. But there is an excitement in the
air from socialists across the board. They know that come
November, America is crossing the precipice from the social
contract of the Founding Fathers into the land of the
progressive contract on governing people. They have to be
excited that the foundational principles of government
protecting the rights that can only be granted by the Creator
will be put aside for government determining what those rights
are and protecting them how it sees fit. You see, both men
running for the office of president believe in a higher power,
its just not the Creator, or even the nature of the Creator,
YHVH.
This historical election could well be the crowning moment for a
new American socialism where government and its unyielding power
replaces YHVH as the creator of human rights at the center, or
heart, of what drives our nation. The pollsters are in overload,
giving the daily trend already for a campaign that does not
begin in ernest until the nominations are final. But Americans
are witnessing the massive news coverage of who is winning
today. Don't be fooled. The popularity percentages are not what
will determine who is president. It matters very little who is
ahead in the polls. The person winning the most electoral votes
will capture the presidency.
Christians often debate their role in determining government.
Scriptures relating to this include Romans 13:1, "Let every soul
be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of
God: the powers that be are ordained of God." Daniel 2:21 speaks
of YHVH, "And he changes the times and the seasons: he removes
kings, and sets up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and
knowledge to them that know understanding." There are many
verses to say that YHVH is in control of who is placed in
leadership. It is an interesting relationship between YHVH and
the people of any nation. For YHVH judges not only the
individual people, but also the nations.
Peter and the Apostles certainly had an opinion on whether to
subject themselves to the authority of the Sadducees. Acts 5:29:
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to
obey God rather than men." The general cop out by those not
wanting to take action is that YHVH is in control of everything,
so we get what we deserve. I do not deny that. The "deserve"
part, however, is key. Our Father is one of great benevolence
who loves His people. And if His people do the right thing, YHVH
is perhaps predisposed to honor their actions as they align with
His will. He wants His people to be active, to walk in His ways
and to be salt and light. We, in America, are headed into dark
times, unless We the People form the hedge and stand in the gap
for what is right and acceptable to the LORD. It is a matter of
the heart.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
