"Bruce re the church"

Bruce (and other doves)

There are verses that speak of being aware of the nearness of the Lord, of being sure of your calling and election, of not falling asleep and of praying that you be counted worthy to escape what is coming...all of these speak to the idea that not everyone who thinks they are going in the rapture will be going.  They also speak to a greater idea that not everyone who says they believe is really saved.  The full gospel is to believe in  your heart and confess with  your mouth that Jesus is Lord.  Many hear the gospel, get all excited and believe that they are saved from hell, but that is the end of their interest.  Or some well meaning "brother or sister" comes along and over waters them and it kills that little spark of spiritual life.

God planted people in a garden to begin with. You can learn a lot about God and people by gardening.  Not every seed you plant grows. Seeds need lots of water in the beginning but not so much afterward. Your garden will do better if you soak it and let it dry out between waterings. Weeds are like sin, just when you think you've pulled the last one, 10 more spring up :)  Little plants need lots of the sun (Son) to grow and mature. Plants don't produce fruit first thing...they must grow and mature before you can harvest fruit...Just some things I've gleaned over the years of gardening.

All of that to say...You all are all correct. Not everyone who thinks they are "saved" really are "saved" so not everyone who thinks they are saved are going in the rapture and everyone who has the Holy Spirit in them will go...because God can not deny Himself.

Share the gospel, (plant seeds) tell the Truth when given the opportunity (share the Word accurately), let God bring up the sprouts, focus mostly on making sure of your own election and calling, praying always to be counted worthy to escape what is coming, as the day draws nearer.

Maranatha,
