Praise God for this post!!
This is absolutely correct concerning alcohol and
Jesus turning the water into wine (fruit juice).
"Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging:
and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise"
(Prov. 20: 1).
If anyone would do an honest and complete study on this
topic of drinking alcohol, whether it be wine, beer, or mixed
drink, etc., they would come to understand that any amount of
alcohol consumption is forbidden and is considered being
a drunkard, as anyone who partakes of alcohol
is considered unrighteous, and will not inherit the
kingdom of God!!!
"Know you not that the unrighteous
shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be
not deceived: neither fornicators, nor
idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of
themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor
drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall
inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Cor. 6: 9-10).
And also in Galatians 5: 19-21.
Many try to justify drinking alcohol by using Ephesians 5:
18, as it says, "wherein is excess", as they surmise to
their own destruction to think they can drink moderately, up
to the point where THEY determine the cut-off point should be,
thus they become their own god and judge. If we are
honest with ourselves, when scripture says "wherein is
excess", this simply means that any amount of alcohol is in
excess, for scripture cannot contradict itself.
The Lord did not allow kings and priests to drink alcohol
in the Old Testament. We who are IN Christ are kings and
priests (Rev. 1: 6).
So, if you consider yourself a Christian, and are doing
any of these things in 1 Cor. 6: 9-10 and Gal. 5: 19-21,
you MUST repent, and cease doing them, or as scriputure
says, YOU WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD!!!
Jesus says to the churches: "Repent, and do the first
works." This means to cease from doing the sins of the
flesh as mentioned above by being DOERS of the word (the
true doctrine of Jesus Christ).
"Let the weak say I am strong" (Joel 3: 10).
"...for joy of the LORD is your strength" (Neh. 8: 10).
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the
power of His might" (Eph. 6: 10).
"I CAN do all things through Christ which strengthens me"
(Phil. 4: 13).
"I will love you, O LORD, my strength" (Ps. 18: 1).
