Precisely, this is a sign for the Jews.  This will be much worse than an eclipse.  Just about the only group of people on earth that publicly support the nation of Israel is Bible believing Christians.  When they depart it will be a very dark day.

 

Two very powerful earthly forces separate the Jews from their Messiah.  One is the rabbinic class who have distorted and eliminated teachings to antagonize Jews against Jesus as Messiah.  To them, anyone is more acceptable.  The second is the one world “secular” movement which is just as involved in Israel as anywhere else.  When the Arabs talk about “Zionists” they mean the one-world bankers of the west like the Rothschilds who were central to re-establishing Israel, but are ungodly.  So, the point is that the Jewish people will need a really big knock on the head to recognize Jesus as Messiah.

 

As far as the covenant is concerned, I hold the view that Christ confirmed God’s covenant with the Jews at His first coming.  His death on the cross is the rejection which allowed for gentile salvation.

 

Ultimately, we agree that whoever is right is of less importance than being reconciled to God.  More important than any calendar is that many of those looking for His coming have been given a sense of peace and spiritual rest.  This speaks to a very short wait.
