"Jesus is alive!"

Thank you very much for your series of Jesus is alive.  I love to read about the miracle working power of our God!

I would like to testify of His power

I went on a mission trip with our church back in 1997 to Hong Kong.  We all checked into the hotel we were staying at and was told to meet in the lobby at 5pm to be bussed to where the meeting was being held.  My roommate and I were given a smoking room because there were no non-smoking rooms available for us.  After a couple of hours the front desk called us and said a non-smoking room just became available and would we like to switch rooms.  We were happy to make the move.  We both took a short nap and got up in time to get ready to meet the group downstairs in the lobby.  When we got to the lobby our group that we were with was gone.  We went to their rooms and they were not there, so we asked the front desk if anyone had left us a message and no message.  We were staying in Kowloon Tong and had no idea where the meeting was.  We went to the front desk and asked where a place that several thousand people could gather for meetings.  The language barrier was a big problem and they did not really understand what we were saying.  The lady at the front desk said Hong Kong island and told us directions on how to get there, but we did not understand.  There was a bus terminal outside the hotel and my friend said let’s just try to find it.  I told him he was nuts and that you do not just run around in a foreign country looking for something.  We went to the bus terminal and asked for a bus that would take us to Hong Kong island, and they said it was bus 279.  I did not think this was a good idea and was praying in the spirit when I heard that still small voice says to me “the steps of a righteous man are ordered of God” and I said upon those words I will go.  We got on the double decker bus  and started traveling for a number of miles and under several tunnels before we were told that we would have to get off at the next stop.  We asked if we take the same bus back to the hotel, and he replied no this is the last bus of the day.  So we left the bus walked half a block and turned left and started walking.  We visited a couple of shops as we were walking and jokingly said wouldn’t it be something if we walked in when they were about to pray for people.  After walking for about an hour we thought maybe we should try to find a some way to get back to the hotel, and gave a cab driver a business card from the hotel we were staying at and asked him to take us there.  He said he did not know where that was!  So we continued to walk a short distance farther and we saw a poster of the group we were with and asked a gentleman where this was, and his response was that it was just a couple blocks away.  So we continued on and arrived at the meeting just as they were about to pray for people that responded to the message.  Our group leader’s jaw about hit the floor when he saw us arrive and asked how we got there, and we told him.  We did not walk one step out of our way in getting to this meeting and we had no idea of where it was at.

We found out that our group had changed the time to 4pm to meet in the lobby.   They tried to contact us and let us know but they went to the room that we were first assigned to and did not know we had switched rooms.   Truly the steps of the righteous are ordered of God!
