"Relationships"

Anyone else experiencing this?   You know, during the Trib, where people will turn on each other -- the closest of friends and/or relatives.....   yet, some are getting a taste of this now?

Because I am a relational person -- I WANT good relations with people, yet it seems the harder I try -- the more elusive it comes to me!   I don't quite get it.  I'm not overbearing ... or a bore.... or a know-it-all..... or a "do it my way Marie Barone" (from "Everybody Loves Raymond")   I'm not flirtatious with my friend's husbands.  I try to be the kind of friend to others that I'd want.

At any rate, over the past couple of months, I've lost some (once close) relationships.  TBH, one I don't even much care about ~ as over time, it proved to not be a good relationship ANYWAY.  Not only that, but I've since come to realize that if they're forever going to break ties over one little thing I said -- then they never truly knew my heart to begin with.  The only uncomfortable part is they're neighbors so we have to run into each other occasionally & go thru' the NOW LET'S FOREVER IGNORE EACH OTHER drama!!     **ugh**!!

But anyway -- se la vi ~ easy come, easy go  [regardless of the fact that I did SO MUCH for them.... that smacks sometimes, doesn't it?!!]   Yet, when the neighbor's 33 y/o son shows up & nearly kicks our front door in -- like a raving demonized maniac then I want NOTHING ever to do with THEM anyway!!!

It's this other relationship that concerns me the most.  I had jumped to conclusions & assumed something.... nothing bad.... I was really trying to HELP -- sent her a letter -- which she claims she was *taken aback* by....   and so, I've since worked on my end..... not once, but several times & in several ways to try to make up..... but all I'm getting is ice water!!!   [thought Christians were supposed to be forgiving??]

I do understand she is over the top busy....  however it chaffs me b/c her DH is running for high office & we (my own DH & I) have gone *overboard* in helping him .....  donating tons of time, effort, money.....     Jeepers!!   Now all of a sudden, he's gotten all matter-of-fact, business-like, too..... will not entertain small talk....   [he'd better be nice to us if he wants us to continue helping!!   .....smile/smile!!]

You'd think maybe the least she could do would be minimal communication?!  If she does not want to accept my offer of friendship ~~ then to at least acknowledge it if nothing else.  I totally get it if she chooses to not be friends b/c she's so busy with her own circle of friends & family (some are just blessed in that way); but I guess the really awkward part is she does not even acknowledge me in any fashion or form.   The whole thing/relationship is just totally awkward right now.
I'm finished trying.... giving it to the Lord.....  I try every day to remember to pray for the both of them as it is an intense time in their lives.

But I hurt..... no, I obsess over this -- over having hurt someone (though be it totally unintentional!!).   Seems the more I try to cultivate good relations with people, the more elusive it is for me.  Sure makes me feel like an outcast.... like an ogre..... like I ought to just go live on an island by myself!

Anyone else been experiencing the "relationship drama"??

Our Father said we'd have days like this!!
