Oh my goodness! I was just thinking this same thing, but didn't look things up. I kept thinking...'those that remain..', and I kept inserting the word, 'alive' at the end! Those who remain alive after the graves are opened and the dead in Christ rise! For some I'm sure they will just assume the Earthquake has 'opened' the graves, but I think it will be the other way around. The science behind this miracle will be like mini atomic level 'blasts' that reconnect 'the bodies' of these 'sleeping Christians'. There will be a massive worldwide quake, and yes, some of 'us' will die...BUT, those who 'remain alive/survive', will also be saved and raised up. The beauty of it is, even if we die before the Rapture, we still take part in it. Be we the 'dead in Christ' who've been buried, cremated, lost at sea, eaten by beasts, whatever..OR newly dead/killed...we'll go, and in a twinkling of an eye, those who remain alive will also be changed, and rise up to MEET in the air with all the Christians, past and present to be with the Lord. Wow.
