While I don't subscribe to this point of view. I do believe there was a time between Gen 1:1 and 1:2. That the word translated as was' should have been translated as became'. I think the gap is when satan fell and was the time of the dinosaurs. I believe this was a period of a few thousand years not millions. I remember reading somewhere that the level of dust found on the moon during the landing would indicate an age of about 10,000 years which surprised scientist who planned for a thicker layer based on millions of years.
