In 1959 my parents and I went to see a new Gregory Peck movie, "On the Beach". I was only 9 years old, but the movie had an extreme impact upon me. I was totally captivated and riveted by it, and in the years ahead I would end up seeing it many times. It is amazing how God works! Unknowingly to me, He was preparing me for a teaching ministry in end time Bible prophecy that I would embark upon in the summer of 1980 at the age of 30. And in those early years of ministry I came upon Zechariah 14:12---------
"Now this will be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem (Armageddon in our not too distant future); THEIR FLESH WILL ROT WHILE THEY STAND ON THEIR FEET, AND THEIR EYES WILL ROT IN THEIR SOCKETS, AND THEIR TONGUE WILL ROT IN THEIR MOUTH."
This is PRECISELY what happens to humans in a nuclear blast! This prophecy was written around 2500 years ago by the Jewish prophet Zechariah. He could not possibly have known about our nuclear weapons today! In fact, when one looks at 6000 years of human history since God created Adam, it truly is astounding that nuclear weapons came into existence in 1945, just 3 years prior to Israel becoming a state in 1948! No accident whatsoever! God is quite meticulous in how history gets laid out! After all, He is the Alpha and the Omega, He knows the beginning from the end!

As a little kid it had an extremely powerful impact upon me! It still does today!

P.S. I know this is gruesome, but please note above "their flesh will rot WHILE THEY STAND ON THEIR FEET". In the intense heat wave that emanates from a nuclear blast, the flesh is seared off the body before the remaining skeleton can fall to the ground! If I were you, I would accept Israel's long rejected Messiah as your Lord and Savior, leave this earth in the upcoming Rapture, and not be here for this terrifying event! God rescued Noah and his family BEFORE the flood, God rescued Lot and his family BEFORE he destroyed Sodom, and God will rescue His people on earth in the Rapture BEFORE the terrifying 7 year Tribulation Period! That 7 year Tribulation Period will begin with the coming FALSE Middle East peace agreement (Daniel 9:27).
