"How related?"
How related are the following scriptures, to what people might
conceivably consider if we run out of food during the current
crisis?
-------------
Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for
food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be
desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did
eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
-------------
Genesis 25:30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with
that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name
called Edom.
31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what
profit shall this birthright do to me?
33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto
him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and
he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau
despised his birthright.
-------------
Genesis 47:13 And there was no bread in all the land; for the
famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land
of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine.
15 And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the
land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give
us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the money
faileth.
16 And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you
for your cattle, if money fail.
17 And they brought their cattle unto Joseph: and Joseph
gave them bread in exchange for horses, and for the flocks, and
for the cattle of the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them
with bread for all their cattle for that year.
18 When that year was ended, they came unto him the second
year, and said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how
that our money is spent; my lord also hath our herds of cattle;
there is not ought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies,
and our lands:
19 Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our
land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be
servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not
die, that the land be not desolate.
20 And Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for
the Egyptians sold every man his field, because the famine
prevailed over them: so the land became Pharaoh's.
-------------
Deuteronomy 28:52 And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates,
until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst,
throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy
gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given
thee.
53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh
of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath
given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine
enemies shall distress thee:
54 So that the man that is tender among you, and very
delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the
wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he
shall leave:
55 So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of
his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him
in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall
distress thee in all thy gates.
56 The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not
adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for
delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the
husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her
feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall
eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and
straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy
gates.
-------------
II Kings 6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and,
behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for
fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's
dung for five pieces of silver.
26 And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall,
there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.
27 And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I
help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?
28 And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she
answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat
him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.
29 So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her
on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath
hid her son.
-------------
Lamentations 5:10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the
terrible famine.
-------------
Revelation 6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the
third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse;
and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A
measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a
penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
-------------
Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich
and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or
in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the
mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
