ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION
As most who follow this web site know, the abomination of desolation, often translated as “the abomination that causes desolation”, is mentioned 4 times in the Bible – twice in Daniel, and twice in the New Testament.  (Dan. 11:31; Dan. 12:11; Mat. 24:15; and Mk. 13:14.)  The 2 mentions in the New Testament are quoting Jesus who is referring back to Daniel.
After a great deal of study, I am convinced the abomination of desolation refers to nuclear weapons.  This is not a unique theory, as there are a few others who have come to the same conclusion.
Can anyone think of anything on earth that better fits the description “the abomination that causes desolation”?  Nuclear weapons certainly are an abomination and they certainly cause desolation.
 Jesus told us (Mat. 24:15) that the abomination that causes desolation will be seen "standing in the holy place."   I believe this is referring to a time when Israel will raise her nuclear missiles into launch position for all the world to see them.  This will probably be a show of force to try to scare back her enemies, who, we know from Luke 21:20, will have surrounded her.
