When I saw that picture, the first thought that came to my mind was "could that be the Apostle John?".  Biblically that is based on a very thin phrase within The Gospel of John, where Christ hints at John possibly living until the end of days.  Sorry I can't remember the exact words or reference.

In Revelations, John bears witness to everything that is to come, so who knows?

However, when I saw that picture, my brain just stopped for a moment.  He looks like someone of middle-eastern descent, he was barefoot, and with his staff, he reminded me of someone who has seen many many years.
