Dear Doves...
Regarding Martha and Mary....do you really think that the "works" of Martha was anything more then putting out food and doing the dishes???
Those aren't much 'works'.
This is a very important account for me....and it has much more to do with making food, putting it out for others, and cleaning up.
Mary of Bethany sat at His feet, listening to Jesus, believing what He said, and ACTED accordingly. Mary had good WORKS....she opened up the expensive Spikenard and anointed Jesus with it....because she believed Him when He said He was going to DIE....so, she did something about it. She did not just sit there, believing, and doing NOTHING. She didn't say: I believe, therefore, I'm saved, and have nothing to do other than my 'belief'....
Faith without Works...is DEAD. None of us are to sit on our hands doing nothing.
James chapter 2:24-26
24 Ye see then that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
