"Noah, Abraham and
Moses Point to Jesus"

The first episode of the mini-series "The Bible" on The History
Channel seemed to jump off the screen last Sunday night with
spiritual vitality and timeless truth. Three of the key biblical
figures from week one were Noah, Abraham and Moses. This
dramatic history lesson points us to Jesus....but will you look
to Him and believe what God invites you to believe?
Noah's ark, like the cross of Jesus, was made of wood. Those on
the ark were saved from the flood, just as those today who trust
in the death of Christ are saved from the flood of sin and
damnation. There was only one door into the ark. Likewise, Jesus
is the only "door" into heaven. Will you come aboard God's "ark"
today by trusting in Jesus to cleanse you of your sins? The ark
of Christ's cross has room for you....but whether you enter it
by faith, or not, depends upon what you do with Jesus.
Abraham was called by God to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, as
an offering on the mountain. At the last minute, the Lord
stopped it from happening. Instead, God provided a ram to be
sacrificed. Do you see Jesus in this true story from history? Do
you see that God sacrificed His only Son on the cross as the
payment for your sin? Whether you are a Jew or a Gentile, this
message is for you today. God provided the Lamb at the cross.
God provided the sacrifice. Will you believe in Jesus Christ as
your Savior?
Abraham was put to the test by God....and he passed the test.
His only Son was spared....but Jesus was not spared. Our Lord
endured the cross for you....and for me.

Moses was also the one to whom God gave the 10 Commandments. As
we are told in the Gospel of John, "the law was given through
Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." (John 1:17)
Moses points to Jesus by pointing to the One who fulfilled the
law for us. Christ did what we could never do ourselves.
