"Why it is clear that Dan 11:36-37 Apply to the False Messiah"

Someone tried to argue that Dan 11:37-39 applied to Herod, and does not apply to the False Messiah.  Here's the propblem with that philosophy...

Dan 11:35 some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed. Notice how this is pointing towards the END TIMES
11:36 the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation/wrath (זַעַם) be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Is this saying he will be in power until the Wrath of G-d is revealed?  That would place the timing in line with the previous verse.
11:37 Neither shall he regard the gods of his fathers; and neither the desire of women, nor any god, shall he regard; for he shall magnify himself above all.
11:40 And at the time of the end shall ....
11:41 He shall enter also into the beauteous land this hearkens back to Dan 8:9, which is clearly referring to the False Messiah.
11:45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the beauteous holy mountain Herod lived in Jerusalem, and in a full fledged palace, not a tent.
Dan 12:1-2 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who standeth for the children of thy people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time; and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.  And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproaches and everlasting abhorrence This is clearly the end times.

So Dan 11:35 is talkign about end times, 11:40 is talking about the end, Dan 12:1-2 is talking about end times, Dan 12:1 places the end times at the time of the king....yet we are supposed to conclude that everything in between is not part of the end times?  Sorry....it just doesn't fit.

Shalom,

Joe
