             I enjoyed that, and I too often fit the bill of being a math air head (great play on words, btw).

I agree with your main premise about America burning.

I had sent in a letter to FiveDoves a few weeks back, where I pondered whether the burning would come similar to how the flood came.

In the flood, water came down from above, it rained.

Water also came up from below, as the fountains of the great deep were broken up.

So, I had wondered if the same will happen during the judgment of fire.

Will fire come down from above like it did in Sodom, and also from below?

Massive ruptures in the earth letting up fire and brimstone, which is also coming down from above.

Massive floods of oil covering the land to make the land one giant, long burning torch.

With giant billows of gas coming up and exploding, causing tornadoes of fire in the land.

Despite what people have tried to say before, that would much closer to “hell on earth”.

Anyway, that is what I think may happen.
