Clergy abuse survivors' group picks 'least worst'
candidates for pope
Group, SNAP, stresses its list – of just two clergymen –
is not an endorsement of any candidate
An organisation representing survivors of clerical sex
abuse has picked two cardinals from Austria and the
Philippines as its "least worst" candidates for pope, as
pre-conclave meetings in the Vatican entered their fourth
day.
With no date yet set for a conclave to elect Benedict
XVI's successor, the Survivors' Network of those Abused by
Priests (SNAP) said on Thursday the most "promising" names
were Luis Antonio Tagle, arguably the most prominent
Catholic in Asia, and Christoph Schoenborn, archbishop of
Vienna.
