Gino,The most commonly held belief regarding the daniel eight passage and the revelation 12 passage, is that the stars are the twelve tribes of Israel.(see Genesis 37:9) The Daniel 8 Passage is most commonly associated with Antiochus Epiphanes, and the desecration of the temple which he did for exactly 2300 days, sept 6, 171bc-december 25, 165 bc. The Language "Mornings and evenings" being used here indicates literal days. The big question here is, is revelation12 referring to the same events as Daniel 8? If yes, this would mean that Revelation twelve Jumps back to 171 bc and describes what "has been", and that the Man child mentioned therein is Jesus. But i have also seen studies done to show that the woman of revelation 12, is not the virginal woman Mary, But a betrothed woman (Note the definition of strongs G1135 gynē) This would then indicate that there is another "child" spoken of here, such as the 144k remnant of Israel. Making these the children of the second generation of modern israel. Or those who are the bride of Christ.
Both sides of this argument are worthy of consideration. John MacArthur and most evangelicals believe that this passage in revelation 12 is in reference to the time before Christ. But that is the Beauty of the Word of God, Just when you think you have it all figured out, He reveals something altogether different.
