Unless I am missing something here, the main reason we
believe that the Pope will be the False Prophet is
Revelation 13:11 which says that he will look like a lamb
and speak like a devil. The word lamb makes us think
the False Prophet might be a religious leader of some type.
In a book I read several
years ago the author (Hal Lindsey??) noted that: "Many
have speculated that the Catholic Church will be the
false prophet. The
office of the Papacy is a prime place to see the false
prophet emerge. No
other religion has an infallible head that condemns its
people when they refuse to believe and obey its
infallible dogmas.
Catholic popes have wielded tremendous power
throughout the centuries, even displacing kings and
government leaders who refuse to cooperate with the Vatican. There is no
other religious figure on the scene today that comes
close to possessing the authority, power, and persuasion
of the Pope. Today
the politicians of the modern world beat a path for the
Vatican
for papal support.
Even Yasser Arafat, terrorist extraordinaire, has
met with and received the Papal blessing. The Vatican
is also the single wealthiest institution on the globe. Add to this
the incredible wealth of over one billion followers and
it is certain that the Catholic Church will play some
kind of a major role in fulfilling End Time prophecy."
Here is what we do know
about the False Prophet:

He rises out of the Earth, out of humanity
itself (Revelation 13:11).
·
Has two horns (looks like a religious man but
speaks like a devil) (Revelation 13:11).
·
He will control the religious affairs of the
world after the Rapture (Revelation 13:12).
·
He is motivated by Satan, himself (Revelation 13:11).
·
He promotes the worship of the Beast
(Revelation 13:12,15).
·
He performs signs and miracles (Revelation 13:14).
·
He will seemingly resurrect the wounded
anti-Christ.
·
He deceives the whole world (Revelation 13: 14).
·
He empowers the Image of the Beast (What is the
Image of the Beast??) (Revelation 13:15).
·
He kills those who refuse to worship the Beast
(Revelation 13:15).
·
He controls the world’s economy (Revelation 13:17).
·
He controls the mark of the Beast (Revelation 13:17-18).
·
He will set up an image of the anti-Christ on a
wing of the rebuilt temple. This is the abomination that
causes desolation (Daniel 9:27).
When Bergoglio was named
Pope I felt disappointed. Prophetic events have
been falling into place with the precision of the finest
Swiss watch and then this guy comes along who sounds
like the perfect soul-mate of Mother Teresa. Is
there anybody out there in the whole world who could be
more of a humble shepherd leading his flock???
Upon further reflection
it dawns on me that the False Prophet, whoever it turns
out to be, will be somebody who will come on the world
scene looking and acting like a lamb. Bergoglio
certainly fits that role perfectly. If this new
guy would have made his entrance on the world stage
spewing fire and venom he would not have fit the
prophesy of Revelation 13.
What is really strange
is how such a meek and humble man can be such a big-shot
in the Jesuit order, which is described by some as being
"the Gestapo arm of the Catholic Church," or
"the Catholic equivalent of the Masonic
order." Apparently, some of the more rabid
followers in the Jesuits have declared that it is not a
sin to kill Protestants. The oath these guys have
to swear is incredibly cult-like and dark - well past
the point of being demonic.
One of the very first
things that Bergoglio did after being named Pope was to
hop in a car and rush off to a Roman basilica dedicated
to the Virgin Mary and prayed to the icon of the
Madonna. This famous icon is known as the Salus
Populi Romani (Protector of the Roman People).
Several people have noted that Bergoglio has a
particularly strong devotion to the Virgin Mary.
The Bible makes it very
clear that we are to only worship the Father, Jesus, and
the Holy Spirit and nobody else. Period. To
worship anybody else is direct defiance of God's word
and a major sin. Every Christian should know this,
and especially the leader of the Catholic Church.
This new guy is looking
more and more like the fulfillment of prophecy.
Another thing that keeps
bothering me is the incredible timing of everything else
that is going on. Lightning hitting the Vatican,
the timing of Obama's trip to Israel, the timing of Pope
Benedict's departure and Bergoglio's arrival on the
scene, the way all this is happening just before the
Holy Week is to begin - complete with a plague of
locust, Malachy's prophecy, the Zohar prophecy, and so
on (the list is incredibly long). Just look at all
of the signs out there pointing to something really big
happening during the last two weeks of March.
Lets face it. We
have been guessing for a long time as to who the
anti-Christ will be. The Bible seems to indicate
that we will be raptured out just before the anti-Christ
is revealed. It would not appear we know the
identity of the False Prophet and it stands to reason
that if the False Prophet is revealed, the anti-Christ's
identity will be revealed very quickly as well.
