Hi Lynnette....."Amazing Grace" is a truly wonderful and beautiful song including the line "grace taught my heart to fear"....

I do believe this counsel from God is taught to us in Psalm 111:10..."The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:  a good understanding have all they had that do his commandments:  His praise endureth forever."

And Job 28:28..."And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding."

And words of Jesus, Himself, in Matthew 10:28...."And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather, fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

I hope this lets you appreciate this beautiful song which has touched hearts for a very long time.
