Jim, it seems the wise men (Jews left-over from the Babylon captivity) had the "Star" as a sign post in the heavens to guide them along the way.

They apparently knew from the Book of Daniel the exact time of His conception (Ted Porter's 62 weeks) and the relative time of His arrival.

These days I believe the Lord has given us the "Tetrads" (Luis Vega, Mark Biltz) as a sign post to assure us of His exact time of arrival!
