We are rapidly approaching the second phase of the Prelude to Christ's Return.

Some expect the 1260 day span to begin as soon as April 11th, 2012!

One important beginning aspect is the episode of the abomination of desolation that will endure until the conclusion of the 7th Vial judgement (Rev. 16:21). see page 14, http://ourpropheticbible.org/downloads/PRELUDE.pdf

So How long will the great tribulation actually last?

We know that the anti-Christ will be allowed to continue 42 months until he is cast alive into the Lake of Fire after his defeat.

What we do not know is how soon the anti-Christ will carry out the abomination of desolation after he continues his reign, therefore we cannot precisely say how long the

great tribulation will last. Only that it will not exceed the 42 months.

Keep in mind that the last abomination of desolation was done in the month Kislev on the 15th day, 167 B.C. (see page 4, http://ourpropheticbible.org/downloads/ABOM.pdf )

This year that date falls out on Nov. 29th, 2012!

I also notice that November 13 there will occur a total solar eclipse while on November 28th a total lunar eclipse! (see Luis Vega, http://www.sonoma.edu/users/v/vegalu/eschatology_files/2012-BW.pdf ).

Keep in mind the final 42 month prelude may not coincide with the final abomination of desolation episode even though it is set to begin in April.

Hence the length of the great tribulation may be accordingly months less than the prophesied 3-1/2 year span.

We have arrived! I expect the church will escape the wrath to come that begins with the final abomination of desolation.
