Yes, I have been doing as you have been doing!

I too am supporting a Christian candidate for high office, even though I expect the election in November may not be reached.  My attitude and prayer to God has been
to let this Christian candidate keep winning as much as possible even if he will not win in November, either because he actually loses, or because there is no election.

The reason?  To encourage the faithful, and create more faithful if possible.

Now I know that this Christian candidate is no more perfect than the rest of us, and indeed I do not agree with all of what he thinks.  But he is a champion fighter,
and does not give up, and represents us in the battle.  So I pray for him and his family and his staff, and for all who support him.  If the Lord tarries, and if he wins,
he will continue to be our champion.

This does place us Between Two Worlds, as you put it, but no more than we have been for a long time.  "Standing until He comes".
