"THE ETERNAL NOW"

THE ETERNAL NOW

Dear Doves,

I feel there was a spiritual point in what Jesus said about “no man knowing the day or hour”.  When we think about it, we are to rely on Him for everything, in every moment of our lives.  He is to be found in the Now; we can be in His Presence, only when we are present in the Moment.

We live in time, yet He is to be found in the eternal moment.  You know it is true, being with Him is a timeless treasure, Holy and Still.  That is where He wants you to be, no matter what the day or hour!!  He is telling us not to get caught up in the past or future, but stay in the moment and let Him live and love through us.   If we are truly His, our lives are His, at all times.

He told us that no man would know the day or hour to remind us not to be worried about the past or concerned about the future.  If we trust Him, our “selves” are burned away, and we know, we have been forgiven, for all time, and He takes care of all our future needs.

With these few words, He teaches us to be still and hear His voice.   Jesus wanted to insure that we would always be at rest in Him; ready to be found worthy every day and every hour of our walk with Him, through this life...unto death or rapture.

Personally, the spiritual significance of what is being said in this verse really makes it hit home.  Time is the reason no man will know the day or hour…because it is a supernatural happening, it will not be happening in time, but beyond time.

We can certainly know the decade, the year, the season and the month, but that has only become important during this last generation of watchers….as the books are now unsealed, and Jesus is at the Door!!!  So many people actually hearing Him knock!!!  Beyond amazing!!

I wrote this poem eight years ago, and it seems to convey what I am trying to say in this post.  It’s called “Anything Good”.

Anything Good

Anything good about me is God
my part in this play is but a facade,
a ragged costume in which I trod,
ever hungry for my home.

It’s heaven’s music, that glorious sound,
masquerading as raindrops as it touches ground
rebounding back toward the Throne.

Anything good about me, that can be,
is my tiny meandering stream bound for the sea.
In those moments when sea meets Shore,
I could not want for anything more.
For it is when God raises my feeble hand
to brush, to clay, to pen,
that He lets me know that He is there
and that I’ll be with Him, again.

There is no other credit for creation,
when I am but the brush, the pen, the clay,
it is the Creator’s way to remind me, with elation,
that I am bound His way.

Anything good about me is God,
it’s clear He’s here to stay,
I’m just a passing fancy, a whim that blows away.
Yet, for those moments he passes through me,
I live my life each day.
