Dear Friends in Christ,

May the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ give us all revelation and wisdom in the knowledge of His Son!

When reading the passage we must read the whole context and not put in words that are not there.

Jesus says, and then they shall see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Luke 21:27

Verse 34 says to take heed i.e. be careful that surfeiting , drunkenness, and cares of this life,

do not cause you to be unaware of the time of Jesus return.  Verse 36 explicitly says pray that you would be counted worthy to escape all these things.

That is referring to the sins (v.34) that are going to cause many to be off guard and unprepared for the coming of the LORD!

Luke 21:27  This is a charge to be ready by living an obedient life to Word of God when He comes so that we may stand.
