"reply Bruce Warner Parable of fig tree"

Hi Everyone
I read Bruce Warner post that the parable of the Fig Tree is not the second coming but is the rapture of the church.

I would say that the rapture has already taken place and that Jesus is talking to the Jews and others who are living during this the last 70th week. In the previous verse he told about the gathering of his chosen ones from the four corners of the earth.Starting with verse 29

Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

These verses are definetly the second coming so why would he be talking about the rapture in verse 32 when he starts telling them which generation can expect these things. Also look at verse

Look at Luke 21:31 again

Luke 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

He is telling them the Kingdom of God is at hand. This is the time when Jesus rules the earth again after his second coming.

So to say this is the rapture is trying to have it both ways. Jesus is definetly talking about the reign of Christ on earth not the rapture of his Bride.

Thanks
