I can help a bit with that. In the KJV, look carefully at the word “was.” Some of them will be in italics. If not in italics, there is a change. If in italics, there is no change. Those words were just supplied by the translator.

This helps us understand Gen 1:1-4. So do some other original words and Isa 45:18. He did not create Earth waste and desolation, he formed it to be inhabited.

Gen 1:1 “In the beginning God created (bara, created out of nothing) the heaven and the earth.
Gen 1:2  And the earth was (hayah, became) without form (tohu, waste), and void (bohu, desolation); and darkness was (hayah, became) upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen 1:3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was (hayah, became) light.
Gen 1:4  And God saw the light, that it was good”

Isa_45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created (bara, to create out of nothing) the heavens; God himself that formed (yatsar, squeezed into shape) the earth and made (asah, made out of existing materials) it; he hath established it, he created (bara) it not in vain (tohu, waste), he formed (yatsar) it to be inhabited: I am the LORD (YHWH); and THERE IS NONE ELSE.“

Isa 44:6 helps too. It says, “Thus saith the LORD (YHWH) the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD (YHWH) of hosts; I am the first (YHWH King of Israel), and I am the last (YHWH of hosts, the redeemer); and beside me there is no God.”

That helps us understand Joh 1:1-3,14. It says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2  The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

Joh 1:14  “And the Word was made flesh (i.e., Jesus) and dwelt among us”.
