"PAULMCGUIRE"
BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT IN THE LAST DAYS
By Paul McGuire
The Apostle Paul exhorts all believers, "See then that ye walk
circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time,
because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but
understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk
with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving
thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name
of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:15-20
The central spiritual issue is being sensitive to the Lord's
voice and His presence. When we walk in the presence of the
Lord, we have a supernatural desire to win souls to Jesus
Christ. The mere fact that we are walking in the presence of the
Lord gives us a burden for the lost and drives us to seek ways
to reach them. There are many opportunities that the Lord gives
us to reach people with the Gospel.
The only way a believer can walk victoriously in the last days
is to obey the Apostle Paul's instructions:
1. Be not unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
You have to read your Bible for yourself.
2. Don't get drunk on wine or high on drugs, but be filled with
the Holy Spirit!
3. Worship the Lord and make melody in your heart to the Lord.
4. Give thanks for all things to God.
Many people are depressed, anxious, confused and afraid, but the
Lord can empower you to live victoriously if you do what the
Apostle Paul is teaching us. We are living in the last days and
confront daily the spirit of this age or the world system. None
of us can do that without supernaturally living in the Presence
of the Lord. The way we can live in the Presence of the Lord is
to humble ourselves in His presence. Although, I prefer the King
James Version for accuracy, the King James Version translates
James 4:10 as, "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and
he shall lift you up."

WALKING IN THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD
Then whatever the Lord tells you to do - do! It is that simple.
Whatever decision or issue we are facing can be solved by
spending time in the presence of the Lord. If you are dry in
your life and burnt out, your answer will be found in the
presence of the Lord!
The Lord will allow us to triumph over our enemies, both natural
and spiritual, when we humble ourselves before Him. The Bible
says, "Pride comes before a fall." America and many nations in
the world are in serious economic, social, cultural and
political trouble because the people have become proud. However,
if we, "Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He
will exalt you." James 4:10 NAS The key thing is that we humble
ourselves in the presence of the Lord. It is pride and lack of
spiritual sensitivity that deceives us into being haughty and
arrogant in the presence of the Lord. However, when we humble
ourselves in His presence, the Lord will begin to move in our
lives!
Hebrews 4:1-24 (KJV)
"Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of
entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of
it.
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but
the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with
faith in them that heard it.
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I
have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest:
although the works were finished from the foundation of the
world.
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise,
And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and
they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of
unbelief:
Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after
so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice,
harden not your hearts.
For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward
have spoken of another day.
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from
his own works, as God did from his.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man
fall after the same example of unbelief.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any
twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul
and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of
the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight:
but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with
whom we have to do.
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed
into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our
profession.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the
feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like
as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we
may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
