The Final Stage of Satan's Three-Pronged Attack
I often wonder what makes the devil so dedicated in his task of corrupting the morals of the human population. There is no pay related to the job, and if I was doomed to be cast into the lake of fire, I certainly wouldn't seek to compound my judgment. I guess it's a case of misery loving company.
Over the course of my lifetime, I have noticed that Satan is using a three-pronged attack in expanding his control of our nations. His first move was to take over the education system, next he neutralized the church's moral leaders in society, and the third step involves him removing all secular opposition to his will.
I believe we are now in the final stage of Satan's plan. It should be obvious by the fact that there is hardly a true Christian apologist today with the power to command a national audience. Pat Robertson has large following, but I'm not sure whose side he's working for. In the past few days, he made headlines by blaming the tornado victims for not praying enough, and he called for the legalization of marijuana.
The last Christian leader to bend the ears of political and business leaders was Focus on the Family head James Dobson. He was kicked out of his own organization two years ago in a coup. Before his removal, Dobson dealt with serious matters like homosexuality, abortion, and filth in the media. Today, Focus on the Family is worried about hot-button issues like home safety, back pain, and putting passion back into your marriage. If the Bible reflected the sorry state of the church today, we would have one of Paul's letters rambling on about the proper methods of tent repair or how to buy a used donkey.
With the church having lost it way, what little moral leadership that remains in America comes from secular sources. Rush Limbaugh is one such example. Now it may seem odd that I'm calling Rush a moral leader, especially in light of recent events, but that is how bad things have gotten.
Limbaugh has many faults. He has been married four times, he has a history of prescription drug abuse, and he doesn't have any real religious affiliation. Two weeks ago, Rush earned another black mark by calling Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a "slut" and a "prostitute" for proposing to congressional leaders that she be given free contraception as part of a new health coverage mandated.
There must be some value in Limbaugh because why would the liberal media be so eager to destroy him? Jesus made a very logical point that can be applied here: "Why would Satan cast out Satan?" (Matthew 12:26). Normally, the press tries to ignore him. The only time Rush's name comes up is when he says something that they are trying use against him.
For years, the liberal media has been unable to generate enough controversy that would have any impact on Limbaugh's media empire. With the Fluke incident, they've been able to finally draw blood. Several key sponsors where convinced to withdraw their commercials from Rush's radio program.
The liberal media gleefully reported on the number of people they were able convince to pull their ads. What they didn't report were the ones who quickly found themselves suffering the wrath of Limbaugh's 20 million viewers. After only one week, the Sleep Train asked Limbaugh to once again become a celebrity spokesman for the company. In a letter to Sleep Train's CEO, Limbaugh shot down the idea saying: "Unfortunately, your public comments were not well received by our audience, and did not accurately portray either Rush Limbaugh's character or the intent of his remarks. Thus, we regret to inform you that Rush will be unable to endorse Sleep Train in the future."
I don't put much long-term hope for the survival of the Rush Limbaugh program. Lacking any spiritual insight, Rush doesn't understand that he is in a hopeless battle with prince of darkness. I think what happened to Glenn Beck at Fox News will eventually befall Rush.
The liberal media operated like an army of Zombies. They have a common mind that naturally seeks out anything containing the light of freedom. Once they silence all major voices for conservative talk radio, they will work their way down to small outlets like Rapture Ready. I pray that we won't be here when they decide to come looking for us.
Darkness can only exist if there is a total absence of light. Once the devil reaches his goal of extinguishing the dim light from the secular right wing, he will have total power over this nation. If people knew how desperate it will get in our nation, they would be rising up against the tide of evil.
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some (not all) shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron" (1 Timothy 4:1-2).
