Fallacy and Prophecy--why no peace in the Middle East
There will be no ultimate peaceful solution to the Iranian
nuclear standoff. From early in the turn of the century, Iran
has been cooperative just enough to prevent firm opposition
while developing its nuclear program. Since it is a member of
the nuclear non-proliferation treaty with the United Nations, UN
inspectors were supposed to have access to Iran's nuclear
developments. This, however, was based on a cat and mouse game
that Iran played by not allowing inspectors, then allowing them
restricted access, and so on. Iran also had on its side the
Islamic UN inspector, Mohamed ElBaradei, who continuously said
he saw no evidence of a nuclear weapons program. This is modeled
after an ancient Muslim treaty.
The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was executed between Mohammed and the
Quraish tribe of Mecca in 628 AD. It was a ten year peace treaty
resulting from the Quraish preventing Mohammed's pilgrimage to
Mecca. In essence, the treaty was a huge defeat for Mohammed and
his band of marauders disguised as a religion. There were many
parts to the treaty. It prevented Mohammed from entering Mecca
for a year; anyone wanting to join Mohammed from Quraish against
the family's wishes must be returned, but anyone from Mohammed's
gang joining Quraish would not be returned. Mohammed, now at
peace with Quraish, raided others and gained strength over the
next year.
In the year, Mohammed's ranks grew from about 1,400 to over
10,000. He then claimed that a Quraish ally attacked one of his
allies, nullifying the treaty. Thereafter, Mohammed marched on
Mecca, leading to the Conquest of Mecca. This cunning and well
planned move by Mohammed set the stage for how Islam deals with
its enemies. The pattern was evidenced in the Iran hostage
situation in the Carter years, the entire time that Yassir
Arafat was dealing with Israel through the so-called
"Palestinian Peace Process," and it continues with Iran's
nuclear ambitions. The Islamists give just enough hope for peace
that diplomacy continues, all the while they are working around
the clock toward their goals.
The White House and the UN are playing into the hands of Iran's
Hudaybiyyah tactics. Russia and China--two permanent members of
the UN Security Council--also aid Iran by blocking any real UN
action. The US president says the world is united against Iran.
In reality, it is the world united against Israel by allowing a
nation that openly says it seeks the total destruction of Israel
to develop a nuclear weapon. There is just enough diplomatic
deception in the name of peace to prevent military action by
Israel while Iran puts the finishing touches on its atomic bomb.
Just as Jeremiah 8:11 says, "For they have dressed the wound of
the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Perfect peace; when
there is no peace."
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
