Brother, please don't lecture me about how I'm
trusting in the Lord. Nothing I said had anything to do
with being "good enough". This is not about trying to gain
enough points to score a passing grade. In the kingdom,
it's either an A+ or an -F. You make it seem like I am at
a C and squeezing out extra credit to regain an A+ status
and that's simply not true. The simplicity of this
argument goes like this: Do what Jesus said (first by trusting
in him, then following his commands) and get an A, don't
do what he says equals failure. You are teaching extreme
grace. That a believer can continue on in his sins and
make it to heaven because he said a prayer many years ago.
Next thing you tell me is that it's not necessary to ask
for forgiveness because Jesus already paid for my past, present,
and future sins so why ask him for money when you've already
gotten the gold. Work out your salvation with fear and
trembling, not with pride and arrogance. It's
the same old song with believers who believe in OSAS. Tell
them what the Lord tells them to do, and they automatically
think you're trying to preach works based salvation.
It's really simple. Jesus died so that we may have
life. The only reason we can even get the chance to go to
heaven is because of the cross. You risk being spewed out of his
mouth if you are lukewarm or don't follow what he told us to
do. Being good enough is not what I'm
preaching. I'm preaching obedience after salvation. A good
tree cannot produce bad fruit. How then can a believer say
they serve the Lord when they're gossipers and slanderers?
Is that not bad fruit? Again, how can a good tree produce
bad fruit? Can a person claim they belong to
Jesus and do the very things that render him a son of
satan? You say the argument is not that easy, I say it
is. Brother, if I am wrong i can still make it to heaven
because my sin is ignored. If you are wrong, you risk
losing it all because of disobedience.
Trust Him,
