Ernest P and Job
Apparently we were both looking at Job on the same day.
Good observations. God actually put Job “under the bus” in current phraseology.
God says, “Have you considered my servant Job?” This is in contrast with Satan’s known purpose as accuser of humanity. After Job loses everything he praises God. God apparently summons Satan and asks again, “Have you considered my servant Job?” Satan plays the part of a spoiled brat, offering excuses.
Why did God place Job in contrast to Satan?
I think it was to minister to Satan. Was God saying, “Here is a man that will faithfully honor me. You are made higher. Will you reconsider your ways?”
God himself calls Job righteous before him. This makes him a type of Christ; a man who can stand righteous before God.
Job is considered the oldest book in the Bible. God discusses much of creation with
Job. Could it be a prototype of Genesis?GM
