Dear writers and readers of FiveDoves,
I was wondering whether the Jews have another chance to receive their King?
Someone recently mentioned to me about the LORD Jesus being a stumbling block for the Jews, and I was thinking that someday, perhaps real soon, that will all turn about. He will come to rescue them at what will look like the last second. When they see him up close, they will notice his hands:
Zechariah 13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
But he will there! Yes, they rejected him and turned him over to the Gentiles to be killed, but he still loves them and he is coming for them, to be their beloved King and Messiah.
As for the Gentiles, the last time they saw him, they mocked him as King of the Jews, with a crown of thorns and a superscription written above him on the cross. The issue still is who is the King, but this time he comes with it written on his thigh and vesture, King of Kings. They thought that they killed him of their own power. However, that was only round one, and he let them kill him, for our redemption – but for round two, they won’t even be able to touch the King, he is going wipe them out in a knockout for this round. Last time they shed his blood, but this time, when he treadeth out the winepress of the fierceness of his wrath, he will have their blood sprinkled on his garments. As for the Jews in Jerusalem, perhaps they will be able to repeat what they had done for him when he rode into Jerusalem before his crucifixion. And why not? Even though Peter had denied him three times, he asked Peter three times if he loved him. He allowed Peter a second chance at the three times, and the second round went wonderfully. What mercy and grace! That is why I think that he will allow his people a second chance at receiving their King, a second chance at John 1:11-12.
What do you think about this?
