Re: Patrick (1 March 2012)

...HOW CAN ANY HUMAN JUDGE RIGHTLY THE MOTIVATIONS BEHIND ANOTHERS
ATTEMPTS AT OBEDIENCE, AND THEREFORE HOW CAN ANY HUMAN JUDGE ANOTHER ABOUT
WHETHER THEY ARE GOING TO "MAKE" THE RAPTURE OR NOT ??????

I guess my simple point is this---what we would call obedience, fruits of
the spirit, etc. may not necessarily TRULY REFLECT WHERE THEIR HEARTS ARE
REGARDING A SAVING RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST, AND WE AS HUMANS DO NOT
HAVE A VERY GOOD ABILITY AT DISCERNING MOTIVATIONS.

Now I could be wrong, but it seems to me that MOTIVATIONS (the why we do)
are very important to JESUS, and can not be over looked.

ONLY JESUS KNOWS THE HEART.

Am I off-base here ????  Am I missing something ???

Patrick,

I agree wholeheartedly with you that the motivation of a person's heart
would seem to be more important to Jesus than the attempts at (or
accumulation of) obedience, especially as determined by humans.

Everyone would seem to have their own personal difficulties in being
obedient to the commandments. I don't think Jesus will penalize us for not
having enough fruit, or being a strong enough branch. We are to carry our
cross daily, repent, be cleansed by His shed blood on the cross- and
receive the living water that Jesus provides to be sure that we are His.

IMHO even a "Charlie Brown tree" branch with a single fruit on it that is
grafted to Jesus will be treasured by Him- and should be included in a
so-called "Firstfruit" Rapture.

For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be
holy, so are the branches. (Romans 11:16).
