1 Corinthians 15:22-23

"For as in Adam ALL DIE, even so, IN CHRIST ALL SHALL BE MADE ALIVE. But EACH IN HIS OWN ORDER: CHRIST THE FIRSTFRUITS, afterward THOSE WHO ARE CHRIST'S AT HIS COMING."

 

The FIRST WAVE OFFERING is "a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest. He shall wave the sheaf before the Lord" (Leviticus 23:10-11)

 

This first wave offering represents the rapture of Jesus Christ who is the firstfruits of the dead: "But now Christ is risen from the dead, and HAS BECOME THE FIRSTFRUITS of those who have fallen asleep". (1 Corinthians 15:20)

 

 

 

The SECOND WAVE OFFERING is "two loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven. They are the firstfruits to the Lord." "The priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits as a wave offering before the Lord" (Leviticus 23:17 & 20).

 

The second wave offering represents the rapture of His Church  who are the firstfruits of the Holy Spirit: "Not only that, but WE ALSO WHO HAVE THE FIRSTFRUITS OF THE SPIRIT, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body." (Romans 8:23)

 

THEREFORE:

The first wave offering of a single sheaf of barley represents the rapture of Jesus Christ as the firstfruits of the dead.

 

The second wave offering of two loaves of bread baked with leaven (sin) represent the rapture of His Church as the firstfruits of the Holy Spirit.  One loaf represents the dead in Christ who will resurrect first, and the second loaf represents the living in Christ who will be caught up (raptured) together with them to meet the Lord in the air.

 

The prophecy of the first wave offering has already been fulfilled on what we call Ascension Day. We are now waiting for the prophecy of the second wave offering to be fulfilled.
