Dear Doves,

 

When Jesus gave the 'Olivet Discourse' as written in Matthew Chapter 24 and Mark Chapter 13 He was not only speaking to the believing Jews at the time, but  He was also speaking to His Church at the End of the Church Age.

 

Matthew 24:22

"If those days had not been cut short, no one would survivr, but FOR THE SAKE OF THE ELECT those days will be shortened."

Mark 13:20

"If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But FOR THE SAKE OF THE ELECT, WHOM HE HAS CHOSEN, He has shortened them."

 

The following Scripture tells us exactly WHO THE ELECT ARE:

 

Colossians 3:10-12

"and HAVE PUT ON THE NEW MAN (born again) who is renewed in knowledge according to THE IMAGE OF HIM who created him. where THERE IS NEITHER GENTILE NOR JEW, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but CHRIST IS ALL IN ALL. Therefore, AS THE ELECT OF GOD, holy and beloved....."

 

 

Therefore, "the elect" spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 are "the elect of God"  "whom He has chosen" who are the born-again Christian Church  because they "have put on the new man" and so now "there is neither Gentile nor Jew", but "Christ is all in all."
