The number of 'biblical generations' between Abraham and Christ are forty-two (42) generations according to Matthew 1:17

 

Abraham entered the Promised Land of Canaan when he was 75 years old which was 1,967 years before the birth of Christ

 

Add 75 years + 1,967 years = 2,042 years between Abraham and Christ

 

Divide 2,042 years by 42 generations = 48.62 years per 'biblical generation' (.66 is 2/3 of a year = 8 months)

 

Therefore, a 'biblical generation' is 48 years 8 months in length which is  584 months in length.
