It's horrifying all right, but I don't think this will be the method. 

After 9/11 we saw the "Palestinians", amongst others, dancing in the streets and stuffing pieces of candy in each others' mouths. I think this will be paralleled at the death of the 2 witnesses. Of course, this is opinion only; I have no justification for it.
