Hi RJ2 and any Doves who might have a question on bible versions...

The reason I make so much of Bible versions is that I had this argument with someone back in 1991.  Then I got a "Parallel" Bible with the KJV on one side and the NIV on the other side.  I didn't know which were the "real" words of God.  They were both different, and they said different things.  The verses did not say the same.  This said to me that one was not the truth.  Which one?

So, I did a 10 year study on this subject with much help from "Final Authority" by William Grady, "New Age Bible Versions" by Gail Riplinger, and maybe about 25 other well-studied authors who knew much more than I did.  My conclusion is that in order to "digest" the truth, you must "eat" (read) the truth.  This is my eternal soul I am concerned with, and I will not mess with it.   Yes, I am saved, and I do not worry about that.&nb! sp; However, I am most concerned about my sanctification (soul) journey and destination.  I, like Paul, am running the race for the "prize of the high calling" (Phil.3:14 and I Cor.9:24).   This "prize" is a crown (royalty) and a position in the Millennial Kingdom.  My "final authority" matters!

In my many years past, it was always the case when one had a question about something, they did research on it.  Today, it seems that one gets their own opinion and sticks to it in spite of contrary evidence.  So, if you have come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter what we read, or it doesn't matter if words are changed.  God told me something different in Revelation 22:18-19:

"For I testi! fy unto every man that heareth the WORDS of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall ADD UNTO these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:  (19)  And if any man shall TAKE AWAY from the WORDS of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

Or do you believe what the serpent (Satan) said in Gen.3:1......"Yea, hath God said".....?

Answer me a question.  Since all these "newer and better" bibles have come out, is the "church" getting better and better???  The BEST way to destroy a money supply is to produce counterfeits.  And the greatest way to destroy confidence in God's Word(s) is to come out with bigger, better, more readable, more PC, etc. versions.  Nobody knows which bible to read any more!!  So, they stop reading it completely!!

Maybe it's time the "church" took a sta! nd on this.  First, find out which is the one God preserved in Psa! lms 12:6.  If you want to take a chance on all these other versions being your guiding light...that's your choice.  I've researched it myself, and I have made mine.  My soul depends upon this, and I won't risk it.

We'll know soon whether it matters or not, so there is no further need of argument, is there?
