"For Charles..."
Hi "Brother" Charles...
I really enjoy your letters, and I look forward to reading each
one of them. They are totally unique! You probably
write like you speak, and that makes you all the more such an
amazing individual. I felt like telling this to you...maybe I
just needed to make the connection. I don't have a
clue to the solution of your problem. I've "been there and
done that" in the past, and all I've learned is that I can't
change anyone....just myself! It's a wasted effort to even
try. Maybe that's why God told us to not be unequally
yoked with unbelievers (we don't listen when our hormones run
wild). But, what does one do when they are married to a
Laodicean? Relax in the Lord, and trust Him for the
answers. This is not my field of expertise. But
husbands are told to "love your wives"......Eph 5:25.
Wives are told to "submit to" and "reverence" their hus!
bands. In today's world I don't think either knows how any
more.
What did concern me is your statement of "the world in her and
the spirit in me are a bridge I am trying to span...." All
I can think of here is Lot's wife. The "spirit" in you and
the "world" in her are not compatible, so just be aware of
that. Those in the "world" can't understand us who are
"looking up" all the time. It makes them angry, and they
continually try to pull us down to their level. That's an
awful struggle...I've lived it.
This song has always lifted me up in those times that I went
through that were similar to yours:

(if the link doesn't open, google "I Wish We'd All Been Ready"
by Larry Norman...DC Top (?) does the best job! on the song)
And some scripture verses to contemplate:
Romans 7:14-24....even Paul got frustrated.
John 15:19
I John 2:15-17
Matthew 10:37-38
I wish I could be of more help. I just wanted to let you
know that others have gone through the same thing at one time or
another. I'd like to think I came out of it sane....but
there are some who would not agree with me. I'll leave
them to God....
YsiC,
Arlene
