"Frank R Molver Re : " Spiritual welfare Mentality-Laborers are few""

People can be more intelligent than we give them credit for. People will see the contradictions in your life in what you condemn or allow or practice. If and when we witness to a person, and we always do, right... ?
We can say " Would you like to be saved and go to heaven" ? And they usually say, " What do I need to do "? And we say " believe Jesus died for your sins, repent and ask forgiveness for yours, and ask Him to come dwell in your heart, and that you accept His shed blood for atonement for your sin ' ?'
And then they will ask you, " No, I mean what do I have to do after that" ? If you give them a list that could choke a camel of what they need to do to "stay saved", they will most likely look at your contradicting life( before salvation and perhaps even a little after) of mishap, scandal and contradiction( yes, no one does not sin  and cannot live and walk perfectly), and they will say, " no thanks".
They are realists. They know  that you are laying a bondage on them that you have proven( if they know you) that you cannot accomplish yourself.
This is the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit alone that you are trying to put on them to do of themselves and what you have shown by human effort does not inspire confidence in God, but self effort.
If you tell them, " You do not have to do " anything" to stay saved, because "this is a inward working of the Holy Spirit to lead and guide into all truth" and" justify you by the "free Gift" ( Ro. 5 : 15-18 unto justification for life" , then they may say, " Yes, sounds good ! , if God has been dealing with them, giving them faith, and answering prayers for them by others. They are not stupid. They have heard that the "letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.." ( II Cor. 3: 6)
No one in their right mind is going to consider a "gift of God freely given" as similar to a welfare handout from the " we want your support in return" corrupt Govt. usurping the true ministry that resides in the church( till they declared God dead and took over the job)
People have a way of seeing through the apostasy of a gospel that is NOT " Good News" when you do not let God be God, and His Spirit do what He promised He would do...give you a free gift, and accomplish in you the workings of that gift, not a list of jobs and requirements that even an unchurched person can see is all wet.
