"Patti C Re: " Sons of God and daughters of men""

Patti ,
I enjoyed your presentation on the sons of God and daughters of men. I too do not believe that the sons of God were fallen angels. Your insights using the Strongs( great tool) Exhaustive follow a logical analysis of a word by word study of the KJ AV, which I believe is a smart way to approach studying the bible for yourself. Of course we can sometimes miss the mark with private interpretation, we do our best, and not just take someones word for it.
However, I do not completely agree that the mark God put upon Cain was making him a giant, but the bible does support it.. We are getting into guesswork at this point IMO. My belief is that the mark God gave Cain was 6 digits. We see in Revelation about the mark there being in the hand. Also six being the number of a man supports your theory of "daughters of men" being Canaanites. I do not support the alien connection nor the genetic manipulation. I believe one reason for God facillitating/ allowing a giant is so that the children of Israel would be forced to trust in His anointing to be able to overcome them. This would perpetuate their faith and trust in The Lord as their only hope, and not look to themselves. It also allowed the unbelievers and rebels to expose themselves.
We know that the new birth we have of the Spirit makes us brothers and sisters in Christ, regardless of origin. But saying that God made Cain black or a poor farmer is preposterous. I believe that we are kept in the dark by the bible for a reason. There is a lot of dis-information out there and we would be fools to accept anything without biblical support.

2 Sa. 21: 19-20

19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew [the brother of] Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear [was] like a weaver's beam.

20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of [great] stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.

But the warning of God to the Children of Israel not to mingle with the people of Canaan is numerous throughout. We see back in Genesis  where God actually intervenes in this case concerning Judah, the scepter nation.

Gen. 38: 2, 7

2 And Judah saw there a daughter of a certain Canaanite, whose name [was] Shuah; and he took her, and went in unto her.

7 And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him.

Sin and evil is seen as madness and as God hardened Pharoah's heart, he may have cursed Cain's descendants with a adversarial nature. As far as "sons of God" being widely believed to be fallen angels, we see that they could not be roaming the earth physically.

Jude 6

6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Peter even makes the distinction between foreigners and his own people. They may have been proselyte jewish converts, but spoke other languages and were from other nations.

Acts 2: 5 , 29

5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

29 Men [and] brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Here's some links on giant and six fingers. I will scoff at most scientific theory because they make a career out of discounting the bible.
