"RE: Eloi Eloi, lama sabachthani--Matt 27:46  NIV"

Hello, John and Doves,

Indeed, Brother Jim, what you say is true.  Jesus was quoting Psalm 22:1.
The end of Psalm 22 is confident in the LORD.  Psalm 23 rests in the LORD.
Psalm 24 is outright victorious!  God's Word is forever settled in Heaven.  [Psalm 119:89]

And for those left behind, God has an additional word:
"I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."  Psalm 37:25

In HaShem,
Mike C.

"Eli Eli, lama sabachthani"

Isn't this amazing?  How about this exchange:

At the cross Jesus cried out, "Eli Eli, lama sabachthani?" (Matt 27:46 KJV), that is, " My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" so that today we can cry out "My God, My God, why have You accepted Me?"  -- Pastor Joseph Prince, Singapore

He was forsaken so that we may be accepted!  What love!  How can we not love Him in return?
