Brother,
Your research is very good. However, I think you may have missed
my intended point. First of all, I don't claim to have any
answers about the final end-time empire that Daniel depicted as two
feet of clay mixed with iron and I refrained from drawing a conclusion
or offering any speculation.
Many have said this would have to be the revived Roman empire.
Daniel never said the legs of iron would be Rome. But that does
seem to be the inference. Since there are two legs of iron on the
statue, it was guessed that this represented the Western Roman Empire
and the Eastern Roman Empire.
Yet when it comes to the feet on the statue, some commentators fix the
feet under one leg (Western Roman Empire). They put both feet on
one leg, so to speak.
I merely pointed out that there is good reason to place the two feet of
the statue under each leg (Western Roman Empire and Eastern Roman
Empire).
I hope that helps clarify. If I am wrong, I sincerely apologize
if my small attempt to understand the meaning of Daniel's dream caused
more confusion. To conclude, it was an attempt to show that each
foot of the statue belongs under a seperate leg. Does that make
any sense?
I love the Five Doves website as it allows us all to post our thoughts
on matters that are important to us all. We don't often agree,
but we are are surely trying to understand better the times we are
living in.
Peace to you, brother.
